Maintenance interval for TIMING BELT?

It always amazes me that they even work like that. Most every other car has keyed camshafts, and a pulley with a key hole.

Has anyone had any luck doing the t-belt on a vct zetec without pulling the valve cover or using the flat bar? I would imagine it's possible, assuming one marks the pulleys and counts the teeth.

yes I have, although we did end up pulling the valve cover anyway. before you remove the belt just mark everything so you know where it is suppose to be. My cams turned about half a tooth when sitting without the belt on. When we put the belt back on we just lined all the marks we made back up. that was at 104k and the car now has 196k ....
