Well, It has been a while since there was a gb on this and I am wondering if there is any interest yet. This will be cross posted to NECO!

Details are the same as last time. (Copied from FrostCougar's GB)

Price for 4 or more = $335 was $395

Price for 10 or more = $ 235 was $285

Address to send them to:

Extrude Hone Corp.
1 Industry Blvd.
P.O. Box 1000
Irwin, PA 15642

Direct Contact: Rick Miller (724-861-8694)

You are responsible for shipping your intake, which ever method you choose. You also need to pay for return shipping, in which you will be charged after the process.

Please include a packing list with your UIM, including your NAME, DAYTIME PHONE NUMBER, and RETURN ADDRESS. Also note that you are part of the CEG GROUP BUY, so you are charged accordingly.

You will be contacted and charged after the process is done, so make sure you give the correct contact number for yourself.

This extrude hone process takes up to 3 weeks.

Note: I highly advise that you all take out the black clips on top of the manifold, that hold the vaccuum lines in place, along with the end caps for the runners. This is in case they are lost or not sent back to you.

Here are the last GB's on this.

I am very interested, just need to decide if I want to do the SVT UIM or my ST220 UIM.
I would be interested probably only at the 10 intake price.
I also work relatively close to Extrude Hone, not sure if that helps any but I could help drop-off/pick-up intakes if that helps guys here.
Keep us posted.

So far not much interest on this, but maybe if we sent the UIM's to you, and you picked them up when finished and checked them. That could might give some people the piece-of-mind that they will be getting the correct UIM back to them.

I sent mine in back in February. Took them about 3-4 weeks to complete. Only complaint was they broke off the metal tube that goes under the throttle body port on the UIM. I had to drill out the broken piece and come up with a way to get the tube/fitting back in there. I also had to get new end caps.

I am happy with the results, I can post some pics if you want to see what you will be getting back.

Good luck with the GB!

was it max honed ?... what was the difference before/after ? ...G.

Yes it was max honed, I didn't measure the size.....it's noticeably bigger, Ill try to get some measurements.

As for performance it's hard for me to say, I did a bunch of stuff at once. EH UIM, new LIM, 75mm maf, headers, optimized TB.

I dyno'd 176HP at SZ this year

Hmmm 176whp multiplied by 1.17 (17% drivetrain loss) = 205hp. I'm surprised headers and Max Ex UIM didn't net more. Do you think 17% is right ? ..G.

Stock y-pipe/exhaust :blackeye: my air/fuel was all over the place too.
What kind of LIM did you put on it? Did you get a tune for it? A larger MAF would through off the air/fuel. And if you removed the secondaries with no tune, that will cause a big difference.

I put on a 2000 LIM rather than my 1998, it was brand new so it saved me the hassle of cleaning the old one. It still has secondaries, no tune.....I have a MAF optimizer, just haven't played with it yet

I'll stop cluttering the thread, PM me if you have any more questions :)

Ok, so here is the interest list. I know some of you will only like to pay if we can get 10 people, so if you know anyone that would like to get in on this tell them to add their name to the list!

i have 2 svt UIMs for sale. one is on ebay right now. if you'd rather not have any down time on your car. you can buy mine, send one for the EH while still driving your car with the other. than just sell the extra one afterwards.

The max extrude hone has shown very little promise on the 2.5L svt's. Seeing a back to back dyno...showed a gain of 1.1whp and 1.2 wtq. The horsepower did come in a bit sooner 250 rpms sooner. But it was a peak whp number that showed the gain of 1.1whp.

It was honestly nothing good to write home about. After those results...the extrude honed group buys fell off the face of the earth.

Now put that intake on a 3L and we are talking about some great gains here.
30% larger motor with a max of 193cfm flow from the Max extrude hone...puts you up near the required cfm to feed the 3L.

biminilx...extrude honing that st220....would be insane....IMHO...it would flow way too much...unless you did the heads and all...even then i would think it wouldn't be worth it IMHO.

Update!

I have contacted Rick at extrude hone and got some lower prices!

Im still hoping for this group buy to go through so anyone with a 3L and stock intake should jump on this!
