IAC rebuild ?

Can an IAC be rebuilt/repaired or is the unit pretty much either working or junk ? My car is exhibiting "moosing" and I was considering rebuilding the IAC to see if that would eliminate the problem. I realize I could do the throttle hang fix, but I was hoping to repair the problem at its (presumed) source.

You can clean around the poppet valve but you cannot repair a defective solenoid itself.
