We ended up with 2 'bad' 2.5 Duratecs.
One came with a 1995 Contour ATX (90,000 miles, all city). Engine declared 'frozen'. Took UIM, LIM, timing cover, intake, oil pan, flex plate, etc. and installed on 1999 Duratec.
The other came out of a 1999 Contour (140,000). We had the heads milled and complete valve job done (5k miles on it). It made a knocking noise and the rear, passenger side cylinder (forum suggested 'spun bearing' making the noise), and after taking it out, checking timing/valves, put back in, it froze up (forum likely right; spun bearing). Timing cover, UIM, LIM, flex etc. has been used for 3.0 swap.

With the 2 blocks around (one a 1995, the other the 99 with reworked heads), could we look into making one good block out of the 2?
