Couple pics from Harper's Ferry

Harpers Ferry is definitely a cool little town. Kinda trapped in time so to speak. I live relatively close by so I bike along the C&O often.

Anyway, for some reason I can't get the page to load... ???

Did you ever do any of the hikes? I hiked up to the scenic overlook at Maryland Heights. Worth the effort. I didn't do the big loop to see the Civil War encampment, though - wasn't really properly prepared for a hike of that difficulty.

Apparently Imageshack is giving everyone problems, so here's an old school version

When you walked up to the overlook you went right past my parents place where I used to live.

We used to walk/bike on the canal a good bit.

I've hiked around the town a bit over the years, but never did any specific tours or anything. I've been hoping to get some time to ride around there lately, but just too much going on. B-day's this past weekend, bachelor party the weeekend before that, & wedding coming up this weekend. Hopefully the weather will stay nice for a while longer...

its definetly a cool place to visit, too bad the news the other night talked about some developer who is trying to build a sub division there and the residents are fighting back. kinda interesting to see them lay the smack down.

I've never done any of the hikes around the area, but as a kid my mom took us every fall when the leaves are changing. The only hike we ever did was up all the steps to the grave yard and Jefferson Rock. It's about the only thing she would take us out of school for. It's a great week day trip. In about a month it will be one of the most beautiful area's in the mid atlantic.

Yeah, it definitely gets nice in this area this time of year and there are quite a few cool places to visit too: Washington Monument (South Mountain), Antietam, Gapland Monument (near Burkittsville), Greenbrier State Park, Braddock Heights (and Middletown valley), Frederick Watershed area, et cetera. I'm gonna have to remember to take some decent pics of my CSVT at some of these great places this fall (forgot to last year).
