I was being offered $300 for a clutch change on my 99 CSVT+ the price of the clutch (Ford OE clutch - $180). Is that a good price for labor and clutch or should i look somewhere else? I am short on money right now, and I'd rather do it myself. Is there anyone from Contour.org living in the Washington DC metro area, that is willing to help me/change my clutch?

$300 is a terrific price. I quote around that to do the swap myself. Plus the cost of the clutch itself, of course. I have the capability to do it in my garage, but I have to say that you wouldn't save much money by having me do it. You would, however, learn a helluva lot about your car and how it works in the process.

how far away do you live from Washington DC? It sounds like a great idea!! how long would it take us to swap that clutch? can it be done in one day? and you are willing to do it for the $300? I also have a friend with another CSVT, that also needs his clutch changed...are you up for that?

I can do both... PM me for details. I takes a very long single day (provided nothing breaks or is seized... As is getting increasingly frequent with these cars as they age...)

I'm in Gainesville, VA- About 20 miles outside the beltway.
