Cleaning side skirts

For the purposes of cleaning and touch-ups, can you treat the side skirts like they were a regular car-body part ? I.e., sanding and buffing is most of the work ? I realize that you have to use plastic primer if you want to do painting, but otherwise, it appears like the skirt plastic is painted.

Yes, they are just like the bumpers in that aspect, painted plastic.

If you take them off, you might consider drilling out the drain hole a little larger in order to keep the inside clean.

I definitely plan on doing that. There was a lot of crap in the front wells.
