center console painting

Ok so the center console I got was painted black. To prep do I just do a light sand over the black paint or should I prime the console then paint it.
 
My car was all riced out inside when I bought it. I just sanded it down a bit to prep the surface, primered, painted. Looks perfect. Btw what color are you painting it?
 
I picked up a can of alchemy from carpaintonline. From the way it sound is its a good match to midnight blue interior.

Post up pics for me when you get done. I have a ton of parts I need to paint but gave up trying to find a mnb paint.
