Getting them clear is easy. Keeping them clear is the issue. Did the kit come with a UV sealer?

no it did not .. hmmm
i can say that i have washed the car a couple times since doing it ..and they still look great
when driving in the rain last week you could see after that they dont shed off the water as cleanly as new ones but after a quick hose down and wipe they looked fantastic again
if i wasnt so distracted watching the masters as i was doing this i would bet the results could have even been hair better but the results are soo good im not going to lose sleep over it
has anyone ever Rain X'ed their headlights . .before or after doing something like this?
that might help keep a coating on the lamps and resist some of the crud
