Hey guys and girls,
I've started to take apart my 99 SVT to change the clutch. My plan has been to pull the engine out the top with the tranny still attached, and then change the clutch. I began working without any guidance, it's just a simple FWD PoS after all! Part of the way through, someone warns me that I need a differential rotator T81P-4026-A when removing both halfshafts.....
Sure enough, I check out the manual, and it states that I need that tool, and that I need to remove the right side halfshaft first, which I'm assuming is the passenger side? I already have the drivers side out, but can put it back in without too much drama if need be. My question to you guys is, do I need this if I leave the intermediate shaft in place? it states that the purpose of the tool is to maintain alignment within the transaxle, which I believe the intermediate shaft would do, no?
thanks for any guidance you can give, other tips and tricks are much appreciated as well.
-Jake.
