This popped up a few days ago on my 96 v6 only info I got from searching was this

"1409 is vaccum regulator solenoid circuit malfunction "

So where should I look to fix this?

Make certain the EVR solenoid's electrical connector (and harness) is intact and plugged in.

Check the solenoids coil resistance to verify it is not open.

the EVR control solenoid is located on the back of the intake manifold closest to the driver side, its a small piece of black plastic with a circle shaped top. There is 2 vacuum lines that plug into it and a wiring harness, make sure the harness insulation isnt falling apart, make sure your vacuum lines are plugged in and not broken at any point.

If this is the case, replace that part, you can get it fairly cheap at any automotive parts store.
