i swear i saw an article or thread on this but cant find it now when i need.

But last weekend my drivers side emergency brake began to engage without the handle being up. it started after i parked in my driveway which is a huge hill! so i parked it not much time to look at it.
i sprayed some wd40 on it and wiggled it around by the caliper and it was fine for awhile, and now it just started acting up again after i went over soem speed bumps...

what the heck is it? do i need a new cable or caliper?

i would probably start with new cables. reason being is that its very common for them to have problems, and they are a lot cheaper than a new caliper. i believe there is a post around here somewhere with a Ford part number for the ebrake cable kit that includes both new cables and new return springs.

New cable and make sure you have the e-brake caliper springs(recall).

ok thanks guys. ill got to ford and order them... im sure thats the problem, it may just be the caliper spring cause i could move it by hand and it was just locked on.

thanks
