So how would a radar detector keep you from getting profiled by the police?

Thats making the assumption that every police car runs their radar detector at all times (which they dont).

When in the city though, they are more likely to. Which is the only real use i have for one.

Just for the record, don't bother buying a detector if you can't spend the money on a real one. Escort or Valentine, or Beltronics (which is escort as well)

i also mounted mine there, but i removed the pillar ran the wire down and hardwired it to my headlight switch with a ground so now it turns on with my parking lights:laugh::laugh:

I have a Cobra one and it was about $75 @ Best Buy. I keep it mounted in the upper left corner of the windshield and it seems great. The gate guards never see it either.
