Advice On Mlps Replacement

I am replacing the MLPS on my 98 Mondeo V6 and have just got the new MLPS. I notice that there is a moulded line on the centre and case that I believe relates to correctly setting for neutral. There is also a white painted mark which my neighbour says is where it has been recalibrated and the paint line is the one that should be aligned NOT the stamped mark.

Does anyone know for sure? I don't fancy installing everything and then have to pull it all down to realign the marks if they are wrong. Pix showing the MLPS and the two marks are visible in this earlier thread:

Just adjust it so your backup lights work when in R. That will get you where it needs to be. Verify by checking the starter circuit continuity when in P and N.
