So i had to drive my SVT this week because my DD is getting a starter installed, so of course someone hit and ran on the SVT when it was parked. the back passanger door is destroyed, theres a big dent/scratches along the whole door, so i figured it would be cheaper to just get a new door, theres scratches on the front door and behind the back door, but i should be able to buff them out... no indentations... i have a few quick questions...

1. Any 98-00 door will fit, correct? or do i need an SVT door?

2. How hard is it to install? will i still be able to hook up the wires so i can open/close the window from the drivers seat and will keyless entry still work on that door?

3. If i do get a non-svt door, are they set up the same? will my old SVT midnight blue panel fit the same over the power window controls and stuff?

thanks in advance!

The doors are easy to change. Open them up, undo the spring pin on the sliding flange between the two mounts, twist the electrical connector off, undo the 4 bolts that hold the door to the pillar and viola.

Yes get doors from any contour then just swap out the interior door panel.

Be sure not to twist the 'sliding flange thing' (sorry for the bad name but you'll see if when you get to it. If you twist that during re installation it will squeal like crazy when you go to open/close the door.

1. Yes - any door will fit. If you have the ding guards on your car yet, and you need the door to match, you might need a specific 98 E0 door or a 98.5-2000 E1 door or get the matching ding guard later.

2. Easy - and this is a good tip "twist the electrical connector off", don't pull it until you have twisted it counter clockwise all the way.

3. Try to get a 98-2000 door if you can in case of wiring differences, but even if you get a pre98 door you can always switch the wiring out if something is funky ;). Door panels will fit any year contour door.

Actually, it's easier than that.

Just unhook the electric, pull the C clamps from the hinge pins, and pull the pins. No need to undo the bolts, and you won't have to fuss with alignment.
