do you have kids? or is property settlement going to be an issue? Try to settle those things with your soon-to-be-ex first, get a lawyer if necessary. You can get a do-it-yourself paperwork kit from the county clerk.

If you get a lawyer they're going to ask YOU all those questions. Ryan's correct though, there are DIY divorce kits if it's ammicable. Doubt it, or else you wouldn't be asking about what to ask a lawyer.... Just don't kill the beotch. That won't help. Even though OJ made it look easy.

There is a divorce book made for michigan you can use - but only if it is amicable. If fighting over assets or children are involved, call FRED.
