Cruise Control Not Working

Well I just got the car back from the shop last night.

Got on the highway this morning expecting to have a nice cruised ride to work, and the Cruise Control will not engage. Not even a hint of engaging. I have not had the chance to look in the engine bay but is there a connector that maybe the shop accidentally unplugged when they were replacing my ABS module ( I mean they had to pull the brake booster and master cylinder so there is a possible chance of that)

If anyone could post pictures of what the Cruise Control module looks like I would greatly appreciate it so I can go out and see if its plugged in or not. Otherwise what am I looking at for yet ANOTHER repair to have the CC repaired. Thanks

the unit is located behind the drivers strut tower and has one connector on it ... other then that is the horn doens't work it could be the clock spring ... otherwise you need a Ford service manual for pin point testing, but I have heard about units going bad ... luckly you can use one from any contour or mystique and maybe cougars ...

The speedometer was working great this morning. I have not done a horn test, I will go out and test that in a second.

But from what you mention, a brake switch could be broken due to my recent braking problems. They may have broken it while getting the new ABS module in.

I will go look right now. Thanks guys for the awesome help.

Edit:

Horn works great
Cruise Control module is plugged in but the box wiggles against the firewall (issue?)

All I can guess now is either bad Cruise control module or they broke some switch on my brakes. Either way this sucks. I just want my car to work normally!

What does the brake switch look like or where is it located? Maybe they forgot plug that in or turn it on or...I have no clue.

if there was a problem with the brake switch I think it would effect the tail lights also ...

Oooh, good idea. I never check to see if my own tail lights are coming on. I will go see after a while. I am at work and it will look suspicious if I keep leaving the office and coming back in. They will think I am a chain smoker or something.

Also, my dad told me to check the fuse for the cruise control...but according to this list, there is no such fuse:

I had this happen on my car about a year ago. For me it was quite simple. The plastic clip that connects the cruise control cable came off the throttle arm (or whatever it is). All I had to do is pop it back on. Unfortunately it kept coming off, so I figured the clip had been worn out by stress/heat. I took a pair of pliers to it and squeezed it with a moderate amount of force and then popped it back on. Hasn't come off in about three months. I can post pics tomorrow if you'd like.

Welcome epopeht :) . Thanks for posting.

Yes, welcome epopeht, I appreciate your advice,

However the shop called about 45 min. after I dropped the car off and they said all they had to do was reconnect a cable under the hood to fix the cruise control. Looks like they plugged the cable into the box on the firewall but never connected it to the sensor on the brakes.

So I have cruise control now! And the SVT is officially for sale!

Thank you all so much for your help, hopefully it will sell now.
