Silly spioler

besides, the standard escort was 4 door, zx2 was 2 door and the rear window profile, sheet metal, and taillights are a little different on a zx2 as well. Plus yeah, the bumper....

Although he still has steel rims and hubcaps.

yeah yeha... i figured it was just a 2door escort:shrug:

cause i though the zx2 was badged on the trunk and rear window. cause i know 2 people with zx2's(one zx2 know... since a tree fell on it) and they were woth badged.. other than the bumper. plus its hard to see on the bumper in the pic

This one is actually functional, but I still think it is silly looking.

Mmmm. 69 Charger Daytona. I believe they were functional, at least on the NASCAR models, not as sure on the street models. I actually wouldn't mind having one of those, big ol spoiler, rough shaped nose cone and all.

See noone thinks something is silly as long as it came OEM with a muscle car. No matter how ricey or dumb looking it is.

I need to get a picture still but I keep seeing this older Volvo wagon with a huge erector set wing on the roof / sweet fart can muffler out the wrong side/ after market alloys/ and custom 2.3 fender badges:rolleyes::laugh::laugh::laugh:
and also a Saturn SL1 with an erector set and all stock everything else :blackeye:

If you don't know the history about those daytona's and why they were on the few street cars that were produced than don't knock them.

Yes they may look dumb but they were and engineering marvel when it hit the NASCAR circuit. Back then stock cars were just that Stock looking cars. The rules were in place that you had to produce so many street cars to allow the race car in.

I know the history of them very well. I just think they look stupid. Knowing the history, engineering, and performance of those cars does not make them look any better. Furthermore I am well aware of the Nascar requirements of the time.

Back on topic, spotted this gem in our hotel parking lot while at a friends wedding in Kentucky.

What you can't see is the sweet bowtie pinstriping tape that ran along the edge of the entire spoiler.

OMG its a stock wing so its ok... but put in put it on a civic... woah:nonono:

the wing still should have never been put on ANY car... stock or not.

Like I said, people are always fine with something horrible looking as long as it is on a muscle car that does nothing but drive in straight lines or just makes long sweeping left turns.

As far as I am concerned, most muscle car guys have VERY little room to talk when it comes to Rice. Especially with the colors some of their cars are painted.

yes. but with the muscle cars color. MOST of the time people color them the an original color to RESTORE them. but i do agree, some people paint them just to have a flashy car.. just like a ricer.

i never thought of it like that.. but it can go either way. i think the General Lee charger is definition of muscle rice.. haha
