Basically now that the suspension is fixed the rest of the car decides it wants to take a major crap on it. I need the trans looked at badly. If anyone on the forum knows anything about it please let me know. I can drive the car, though its painful. I know i will need some parts, which I will be more then happy to buy, but I can't afford to throw another 2 grand into the car. So if I can't get this fixed in my budget I will have to sell it. There is no point in putting more money into a car that is worth maybe 5k tops with all the extras i have for it.

I will be able to compensate whoever / whatever group is able to help, just not like a grand in labor lol.

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post, thanks!

it could be as simple as shift cable adjustment that is needed. pop the shifter boot and make sure all the bolts are tight.

if the trans needs to be pull we at Aircougar Performance can do that as well as installing a clutch and diff if you want. Let us know.

Just out of curiosity, do you need to hock your friends shop in every thread?

because its my shop also. we are looking for business as we are stepping it up and now have a garage that we have rent to pay. we have the know how and knowledge on these cars that you will not find in any shop, unless they specialized in the contour/mystique/cougar. we can do any work that people on these forums need at prices that are alot better then going to any old shop ....

well, i think your first order of business should be to find a new mechanic. after charging you 2 grand for 3-4 hours of work, and then telling you to drive the car for 2 weeks and hope your problem works itself out...i would hope it is obvious to you that the guy is a douche.

secondly, as was said it's most likely a leaky high pressure hose which is why there is fluid everywhere. unfortunately, it's on you to find it.

I cleaned up a bunch of it tonight and none of it was redish or tacky...

I had a buddy come over (ex-ceg'er) and he said it looks like the leak they have on their cougar. Their mechanic said it was a timing cover gasket.

if thats true, its nothing you shouldn't be able to tackle yourself. it can be done with the engine in the car. i believe flat rate instructions calls for the removal of the engine, so you probably don't want to take it to a shop. i had the cover out and back in in a matter of 6 hours. also keep in mind it was my first time doing that with the engine still in there. it may take less time for someone else

I won't tell Chris that you called him an ex-CEG'er. ;)

I'll PM you tomorrow when I have more info Doug and we'll go from there.

Just happened to think of it - there's a dye that can be added to whichever system you think is leaking , then looked at with a UV lamp to confirm . It's a pretty cool tool - if it's what you think , it glows yellow/green under the UV . See if the shop has a dye kit .

What's the word Doug? Any progress in finding out where the leak is?
