Monday 10am I saw a group of about 10 new Chevy Traverse
http://www.chevrolet.com/traverse/
All had their emergency lights on and driving in procession with a private security escort.
They all had Michigan license plates.
I saw them in Humble on Atascocita Rd, then they turned right on Will Clayton and keep going toward IAH but I had to turn.
Their escort was even blocking opposing traffic who had green lights so they could run red lights.
Really weird, I wonder what it was all about? Never had seen that crossover /SUV before either.

The Traverse is brand new, they're just hitting the dealers. Based on the same platform as the Saturn Outlook/GMC Acadia/Buick Enclave(all built in MI), but built in Spring Hill, TN. There was likely a group of VIP's involved, I usually don't see escorted groups for engineer testing convoys and the like. GM's known for exposing "important" people to the newest products. After looking at a map I'd say they were probably bee-lining some people to the airport? Having MI plates I have to say they were GM owned fleet vehicles for sure. Know if any government folks were in town today?

same thing today again at 9:15am on my way to work. They were all waiting for trafffic signal at Wilson Rd on Will Clayton.

This is weird, if I see them again I will follow them. I did peek inside some of the cars today. Seemed to be a wide range of nationalities different by each vehicle.

I saw a Traverse yesterday on the freeway; I was actually pretty pleased by the styling of it, unlike most CUVs. The tail lights are pure Camaro :)

Sounds like trying to wow some outsiders. The Enclave is a HUGE hit overseas, we're running extra overtime just to meet the demands for export to China. I think the Enclave and Acadia are both getting solid reviews in the middle-east. So I imagine the Traverse will fill in the styling voids left by the others and will probably get much attention in Europe and Asia.

No.. I wouldn't have to kill you. I would, however, have to find another job, and have a hard time doing that with the results of telling you.

Its not that big of a deal.
