Ricers Making Fun of Me!

The best i've had was at a car show. This guy comes up to me and starts talking about my SVT.

"What kinda car is that?"
"Its a Contour SVT"
"Oh yea? My mom's got a Mystique SVT"
"Mhmm..."
"Yea, dosent it have the same engine as the Mustang?"
"um.. no, this is the 2.5 Duratech tuned by SVT"
"Oh.. yea... Im pretty sure my mom's has like 220hp"
"They didnt make an SVT Mystique"
"Yea? Thats what hers is tho..."
"Ok, bye"

He was some stupid hick so i didnt think much of it.

I find the Contours get the least amount of respect out of any SVT, it seems like people give the FSVT mad props and people forget the Contour was ever made.

Most people dont even know what the hell my car is, at the track i get tons of "What kind of car is that?" "Who makes that?" "What does C SVT stand For?"

My car is a GL with V6 and SVT exhaust, 12-spoke wheels, and aftermarket spoiler. People (even Ford salesmen) think it's an SVT, even without the ground effects. I guess they're going by the exhaust. Oh, and it's a 5-speed too, they probably don't see many dual-exhaust 5-speeds.

One of my favorites i've had this year:

Girl working the booth at Great Lakes Dragaway as i was registering to race that night:

"Wow I've never seen a turbo Taurus like that before!"

Me:

"That's because it's not turbo and it's not a Taurus"

I had this porsche cayenne turbo owner on some other forums tell me something along the lines of:

"hey the ford contour aka jaguar x type is sweet! Does that have the 3L in it?"

 Close enough, I'll take it!

about a month ago i was stopped at subway to grab something to eat. As i was getting out of the car and starting to walk to the door this kid and his dad are walking to their car. They walked up on the backside of it first and the kid which was like 10 said "dad whats an SVT". He just looked at his son and said i dont know. Just thought it was kinda funny. Maybe he'll want to find out when he gets old enought to drive.

I always get the, "Why would you put a body kit on a Escort?"

I usually reply with, "I get mad street cred."

I love the sleeper factor. Goonz I've seen your car and any ricer that doesn't believe you you should ask them how much hp a type R makes then laugh and tell them what you make and that your car is actually the real thing.

I just save myself all the hassle and headaches and don't talk to ricers.....

~Josh

Likewise, but they frequently hang out at a gas station that I regularly fill up at.

I think in the 3/4 of the year I've had the car, one person knew right off the bat what it was.

Meh. Next time grow a thick beard and pull out your cell phone and start yelling out "hulla hulla hulla," while giving them a crazy look. They'll run like lil itches!

Fear brown...we're coming to your local neighborhood to make it smell like the ganges and sport new fashion designs in our lime green curry-stained pants! Hulla Hulla itches...

Edit: Sorry bro, but who the hell pulls out a manual and is like [geek voice] "See guys I told you it was an SVT. See, here, SVT. I told you. Haha, I win!" [/geek voice] LOL! Dude you're nuts.

lololololol dam funny chit!

I would have talked mad chit to them as i always do, clown them for driving a girls car and if they said more i would have made them piss there manties. I hate them idiots, and hope for them to get cocky but it never happens. I guess i look a bit scary with a giant red beard /angry face/ large man,so they always stare at the ground. It seems most import lovers are skinny weak GEEKS.True Americans only drive AMERICAN cars, period. China gets enough cash from us, this we can control.

All the guys at my work are in absolute awe of my SVTC. Just this week one of the them told me he hated all fords until he saw my car. Have to add that the svt is one sweet ride, and one of the best parts is that no one knows that it exists. I love a sleeper.

lol i have the same story man. when i bought mine, the same week my boss said "yo whose black ford is that with black headlights on it?""its parked right next to your car Joey" i says to him, i goes "oh you mean that svt contour out there?" he says "svt contour?" is that what it is? i said yea....and its mine! he wanted to drive it immediately. let em' take it for a spin, i'm like Bruce take it easy man i got no insurance or inspection on this thing!lol he wanted it!

before i bought my first svtc. i heard of them but i never saw one. never saw one until my father came home with it, and handed me the keys. that was in i like 03'. alot of people have no idea they exist....god i love that fact! you guys are very correct too. everyone stares! even me.

When i got my GL, i was like..yeah i wanna put a body kit on it, just a small one. And one of the guy at one of the spots i hang out at in town, which is usually filled with ricers was like or you could just buy an svt. I then went home and google'd contour svt and found this site D:

Its pretty bad that you got made fun of by ricers though..

I heard about SVT's back in 1998 when they first came out, i was like 16 years old and i kinda promised i'd buy one some day.

Well, that happened, but what gets me laughing sometimes is what my cousin's ex-husband (husband at the time) asked me one day: hey, what are the specs on those Contour SVT's? I asked why and he said, well, My prelude SH had nothing on that car, he blew me by at second gear...

i then realized he probably had a 3L and just went away from him. He is a good driver but didn't know what owned him.

This was back in 2001 or so.

F ricer kids, I hate em!

If you notice 99% of ricers are kids ages 16-24 and the older ones are very immature & prolly have :censored::censored::censored::censored: jobs & make $9 an hour. Not saying I don't like Jap cars, allot of them can be done & done right w/o looking "ricer". I love all kinds of cars but my favorite Jap cars are the Subaru's (98-012.5RS/02-present WRX & STI's). For the $, if you want a performance car you can DD even if you live in MI & get allot of snow a WRX or STI is by far the way to go...

I owned a 98 2.5RS which was 1 of 1965 built & the 1st year manufactured. Was a great car (reliable) & hella fun in a parking lot full of snow!
