I got a spoiler for my car...

as much as i hate to admit it, it is off of a GM, Olds Alero. It does have a slight curve to it, its not 100% flat, and its NOT all that big. It does have a little more of a gold color to it, but i do wanna paint it when i get the paint for the side skirts. Its def, not an escort spoiler, they just look like :censored::censored::censored::censored:.
 
Yeah you know what man forgive my ignorance earlier. I was in a hellish mood. I think it was a genuine stab at being different, but it's falling flat on it's face right now (maybe because of the steelies)

I think, imo, it would be best til you get those wheels on you said you had, and maybe some other nice, cheap mods. Then whore it and see what people think. :)
 
I'm thinking the Tour ppl that live in his area come up with a plan to kidnap this ride from old boy and hook him up with some rims and other parts, or just return it to its stock proud appearance w/hub caps.:shrug: IMHO:cool:
 
well, like i said, i have the side skirts that need painted yet, and i got an offer for tires for 40 bucks for the 16's so i have to wait till after carlisle to put them on, i think it should look better by then.....







also, whats so bad about being different??? kinda reminds me of those Honda guys where they all have the same erector set spoiler, huge body kit, 1.5" of ground clearence and over sized rims that rub like hell. I'll admit that the work on the contours here is better than that, but being the same is boring as hell.

I'm not knocking your effort in being different, I'm the poster child on this forum in that area. I feel it would serve better if you did your mods in major steps, or atleast not show until you have enough done that will give us a clear ideal of what style your after. Now it looks more like your hit and miss with no clear direction. :shrug:
 
*raises hand* why didnt you put the money towards new tires for your rims? Or Suspension to slam that thing? Or paint to put on your skirts?
 
if u would read the above post, its says i'm getting the tires for 40 bucks at carlisle, and plus where am i getting a suspension for my car for 35 bucks??? the paint is on its way, i had to special order it cuz advance auto and auto zone dont sell it.

well, actually, what you said was

doesnt automatically register that you are getting the tires AT carlisle, but :shrug:

my thing is that i havent seen one mod to this car that's really worth anything...nothing to increase handling, braking, acceleration

....kinda reminds me of someone going to pepboys and buying a cup holder, some fake sheepskin seat covers a steering wheel cover some chrome-on-a-roll trim to hook up the wheel wells and them calling them mods....to each his own, but one of the things i discovered after i was on this site awhile was that ceg (and fco for that matter) are more about making the car run, perform better, not just look better....that is a big part of what separates this site from some of the others out there.

when you do mods that dont = increased performance of some sort that's when guys get ripped a new one around here

and doing all those little things you've done is nickel and diming yourself out of being able to do some of the bigger things you may want or need

The final result is anyone's opinion, but I like it. The car is plain jane to begin with so the little things he can do to make it stand out should be applauded, not mocked. The paint is close to stock, it looks decent by anyone's opinion, and doesn't scream hey look at me.

Some CEG'ers are no better than JDM whores.
