application engineered?

Anyone ever heard of these brake pads? They were the best available at the local auto parts store.

What brand are the pads?
That term just means the pads are specially designed for the varied use the pads might see in different vehicles.

I thought Raybestos (SP?) or Napa used that term?

Yeah, they are from Napa. I can hear them more than my OEM set, but they seem to stop just as well.

Last I knew, NAPA brake parts were supplied by Raybestos.
