I was wonderin if there is a way to know what number out of 5000 or however many there are in 1999 without having the certificate. I just recently bought the car and was wondering about that...also where do you get the numbers from that you put on the front bumper?

You can call 1-800-FORD-SVT, have your VIN number handy and they will tell you the build number and date that it was built.

You can get the numbers for the bumper from "Parkedcar". Shoot him a PM and he will hook you up.

What color is your SVT? Post some pictures.

One other thing: Ford will give you the build number/date for free on the phone but If you want the build certificate, Ford now charges for it. You will have to send/fax them a copy of your registration and they will send you the cert. IIRC, it costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $30-40 now.
