Do understand correctly you only have one Key? Last summer I broke a key in the ignition and went to the locksmith, being a 98 althought an early 98 only one working key is needed. He used a "Strattec" #10. Only $30 for the key, programing is using the working key-turn on and off and immediately plug in the new key turn on and off. Now and I'm open for corrections our cars starting with 99's both keys are required before you can make a spare. Other wise you have to go to the dealer althought the locksmith told if he was rich he can purchase all the different manufactures similuators/testboxes. The cost is prohibitive ie $30 -40 k each?
Just be glad you don't own a Camry/Avalon and loose both keys --the dealer replaces the PCM, all lock mecanisms and the electronics $5-6K and I doubt your insurance will cover that?
Bottom line can we continue afford such secruity that the bad guys already have figured out anyway?
