We are still having a charging issue and I'm out of ideas.

So far we've put in a new alt, new battery and today changed out the mega fuse.

The alt is a new Palladium that was in service on the car I bought. Had it tested about a month ago and it's working just fine.

We tested the mega fuse both before and after. The old one read ~8volts on one side and ~12 on the other. Changed it out and had ~12v on both sides.

I've been through the wiring and everything is good.

I'm out of ideas. You got any?

1998. Have you changed out Fuse 5? How are the condition of the fog lamps and wiring to the switch? Has the alternator wiring fix been done?

I checked those today too. Fog lights work.

What alt wiring fix? When I put in the new alt last week, I had a pretty good look at everything and all seems well.

I had a feeling you'd find this post Tony. :)

Similar but the old forums thread has "pictures" that goldentour did. Moving the small red wire to the big red wire position.

Edit.

"
1. cut red wire from 3 wire plug from alternator.
2. extend the red wire STILL HANGING from the connector to the main CHARGING wire.
3. the red wire going into the harness is no longer used. TAPE IT UP!!

Heres a Pic of the final wiring. The PINK wire is your new extension.

AGAIN, i cant take credit for this, and yeah i really feel for all of us who have replaced the alternator and did not see any benefit.
