02 sensors

I know this has probably been brought up before but my car threw 2 cel's yesterday both for failing 02 sensors. My question is do they usually burn the cats out right away or can I drive with this the way it is for a couple thousand miles without hurting the engine?

Two sensors seldom fail at the same time. It is highly likely that there is some other problem. It would take something extreme to make the cats fail that quickly and would be very uncommon.
