How Much Lowering? Springs?

So Yah... I am looking to lower my 98 Contour...

I see alot of you have like 1.7" lowering in the front and like 1.5" something in the back...

Does this inch or so really make much a difference.. like noticable? Maybe someone has some Before/After pictures i could see...

I want my car to sit low... not low low like scraping... but maybe a 3" , 4" ground clearance or something.. does that sound good? IDK...

Someone show me a pic of their car lowered and how much they lowered it...

Also, what kit do u recommend?
