i wonder if anyoen has tried installign aftermarket seats in there tours and what does it involve. my drivers seat has turned to crap and i was thinking of buying an aftermarket seat if i cant find a decent stock replacement. if i do find a stock replacement and the color is diffeent is the upholsrty easy to swap?

Many people have installed aftermarket seats such as recaro's, etc. I think there was even a thread about them iirc.

If your looking for an aftermarket "OEM" replacement, no company makes them. You could reupholster it, but I doubt youll find an exact color match.

can the upholsrty be pulled off my seat and put ont he new oen my upholsrty is perfect its just that my seat back is only attached on one side . i did see midnight svt blue seats for sale but still waitingfor a response. rigth now im at teh point with my cra that i just want to maintain it cause i am lookign towards gettign a biek to have fun with.

Yes, a reputable shop can swap the upholstery for you.

i got my seat rails custom made for me from wedge engineering; they use genuine recaro parts because i wanted to fit a recaro seat. quality is superb and it was done in a day or two.

standard 3-point belt is un-changed you just need to remove the bolt for the belt and buckle.

svt seats FTW
Even SVT seats aren't THAT much better than regular contour seats. I have both and i can tell that the SVTs bolsters are a little bigger but not big enough that they would hold me in the seat on the zetec. i need some recaro's for that.

my plan was to just drill out the rivets that hold the factory bracket to the seat and then just bolt the factory bracket to the aftermarket seat. no reason it shouldnt work.

Maybe pre98 base model seats are different from post 98,but I thought my post98 base seats were drastically different from SVT seats. They are about 100 times more comfortable.

the SVT seats are more comfortable but the bolsters still arent big enough to keep you in the seat when doing double (or faster) than the recommended speed through corners.

Has anyone tried doing something like a momo or sparco seat? I wouldn't mind doing those if i could somehow change the rear seat too.

I guess since nobody ran a search.....

This is just to name a few. I know Dion has a set as well as Stazi. DeanJoyce had some too.

anybody got a pic of steeda's black CSVT at spring zing last year? he had a set of sparco's in his car. they looked nice. seemed like they sat down a little lower than stock, i liked the look.

I loved baggeds seats when I saw them at SZ. If you're going to do a two tone, i think the middle of the seat and the door panels colored differently is best. I like mine and all, but its maybe a bit too much black and not enough black "accenting" if you will.
