nose dive after release of throttle

im a newb here and was wondering if anyone else was having a symtom like mine

97 merc. mystake 2.5L 5sp manual 90K miles

driving down the highway at approx 65-70mph i get on the gas a lil bit to pass the old lady in the volvo and when i get around her i let off the gas and the car nosedives kinda like i downshifted but im still in 5th.......is this the secondaries closing or do i have another problem...any help is greatly appreciated

mine used to do taht basically, then i got koni's and it stopped

i would say at 90k that the original suspension is on its way out. new struts should take care of this.

Welcome. Also check the front and rear engine mounts (roll resistors).

i appreciate the help im going to try and buy 4 new struts...money is low right now where can i get some good cheap ones?

I think Ford OEM are the cheapest ones around. The aftermarket ones are usually upgraded sports type and are usually twice the price.

i went to O'reilly's here in town and they have the fronts for 75each and the rears for 90each i think im gonna go with those because i get a Lincoln Tech discount
