Saw this on NECO and noted that it was applicable to CEG also

Happy Labor Day 3 day weekend !

Here is the September special that I spoke to you about a couple weeks ago on the shorty header/ y-pipe Duratec system:

For the month of September 2007, "You earned yourself a cold one on MSDSinc." So a sale is in order!

Since we haven't caught up with steel and manufacturing costs on our pn HO810 shorty header/ y-pipe sets since 2001...we have finally adjusted prices on our MSDS Inc. -* HIGH QUALITY HIGH PERFORMANCE ACCESSORIES site this week. The kits are "Racers net" price of $726.00 for the entire system. Raw steel front and rear headers (not the entire kit) are $220.00 a set.

So the good news is that during September, Forum members CEG and NECO and even you Mondeo guys accross the pond , can purchase the HO810 system for the old price of $660.00. The front/ rear set of raw steel headers are $200.00 MSDSinc. will also pay 1/2 of your FedEx ground shipping to any of the 50 states, sorry freight deal is not applicable for Canada, UK or ROW (rest of world).

Note: there is NO min order on this deal...it is not a group buy, just a good deal for the month of September!

Thanks for your interest in our upgrade products,
Marty

Welp. Gonna hafta pull the trigger on this one. That price plus 1/2 shipping isn't likely gonna happen again. Requested a quote for coated headers only shipped to Florida.

I know, I wasn't going to get headers for the SVT but at this price its a good deal not to pass up ....

334.99 - Is my guess.. 200 bare plus 120 coating plus 30 shipping - 15 shipping

or you can just rattle can them for 10 bucks and have the headers for 240  Thats what I'm doing at least. :D

Well - as long as it doesn't get wet. If the header wrap gets wet - it gets nasty and smokes alot - promoting rust. I wouldn't drive a car in the rain if it had header wrap on it... Ceramic coating is used for a reason - durability throughout most weather/climate conditions.

Yarg.. I don't want to pay for the coating they have.

What are my other options? What are other cegers using? powdercoating an option?

Yeah powdercoating, alot of people just put some high temp spray paint. I guess it just depends on what type of weather you have.

Here's a question. I've got an exhaust leak on my SVT near the head, so I don't plan on tearing it all out to fix it just to put stock back in, so I wanted to pick a set of these up...

How do we go about ordering them? Maybe I'm blind but I don't see anywhere on the site to order the raw headers?

And is powdercoating a good option? I can get it done a lot cheaper and I don't see that much winter/salt being in WV. Thanks for answering the n00b's questions, lol.

Edit: Nevermind, I see how to order them, lol.

Because you live in ohio which is just as bad. Coat them right, or you'll regret it in the long rur.

I dont understand why people want to cut corners on somthing so important. I would hate to spend the money, plus all the time it takes to properly install these toh ave them fall apart a few years down the line. These are mild steel headers - they wont last very long without coating depending on your climate. It only costs 120 bucks to get them coated through MSDS - (they have a shop they deal with) I'll pay that for some good protection...

Uh ok do you want a round of applause. To each his own. Every climate is different and every customer is different. If one only drives the car in the summer, no rain or snow, there is less chance of having issues with rust.
