temp from the gauge in SVT

My SVT, when running it harder than normal, the temp gauge will read with the needle very close to the "m". I have never had it go past "m" and the fans come on, then after driving it, it drops back down to a little past the "n" is this common? the car never overheats.

sounds normal, mine which I just got seems to sit right in the middle and doesn't move.
