Electrical problem. Smoke coming from..

...driver door window buttons and dash (around temp/ac) controls.
I just rolled the window down halfway and was about 3 blocks from home
when I noticed the smoke. I turned car off and it quit. So,I turned around and went back home. The window did come back up.
I unhooked battery. It is a 98 Contour SE with auto and 4.0. and has electric
locks and windows.

Anyone ever hear of this or what may be the cause? I will be taking it to the
shop tomorrow. I'm really hoping it's not too much money or damage.

Thanks for your response, Tony. According to my mechanic, a pin from the power window slid out and grounded against the power door lock switch.
Some wiring harness from his parted out Mystique solved the problem.

Now, another problem is the radio doesn't work. Not sure if this is related or not. Radio doesn't ask for a code and it is not keyless entry. I'll have to take it back in later for a diagnosis.

Check/change Fuse 32 first.
