In MI you could buy a 07 GT500 and if its a private sale and they put down $300 you will be taxed for 6%x 300.

Fair market value is for losers!
 
Apparently in Washington if you buy a car in another state and transfer the title to WA within a certain time period they will charge yout he difference in sales tax.

I think it's because oregon has no sales tax or something.

WA has some wacked out rules.

Mn is the same way. WI tax is 5.5% while MN is 6.5%. So some dealerships have the MN resident take the title to MN and they pay the difference.
