duratec 3.5L for the contour?

Has anyone looked at the new version of the duratec for our cars? I'm refering to this ...

the intake looks backwards, and all the accesories are on one side, but I wonder if it would fit. Does anybody know?

It's been discussed and the concensus is that it will NOT fit because
1. the tranny will have to be transferred with it.
2. The engine is too long.

Thats to bad it won't fit. It could have been a fun project to try and put together.

Basically, it could be done if someone wanted to spend enough time and money to do it. Not really worth the effort though.

Some crazy guy had the idea of throwing in a 1000 Bhp motor into something that weighs 1886 lbs! that's a 1.9:1 ratio of weight to HP. and its only a 2.0 litre 18 valve, twin turbo engine.

The contour weights what ... 2769 (give or take for the options), so all we really need is a .... times that by 1.9 .... no wait.... hold on ... carry the 1 .... 5261 hp to acheive the 1.9:1 ratio. OK ... so a LITTLE out of reach, well ... with enough support I could get something going.

Not that it really matters, but your calculations are off. You divide by 1.9 if you want 1.9 to 1 weight to hp ratio. So roughly 1457hp.
