So I've decided to stretch out my "Campaigning Muscles" and make our collective rants and raves be heard! Let's make it official and do our part to bring back the SVT program!!

I've created an online petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Bring_back_SVT/

Let's see how fast we can get 1000 signatures! After that, we'll see just how far we can go. I don't think that I'm the only person who gets a little  when I think about how Ford has allowed the 13 years young pioneering spirit of the SVT dwindle the way that they have.

Yeah, the Mustang is nice, but come on... it's like a runner cutting off his arms so that he can focus on his legs. Without arms, your running just isn't balanced.

Email the petition to all your friends who have a soft spot in their hearts for Automotive Performance. Any make, Any model Drivers are welcome to Sign.

Already have 3 signatures!!

I'll periodically post updates on the signature count as this moves along.

Email address is NOT required to sign the petition, so y'all don't have to worry about spamming.

Don't forget to enter what kind of car you drive. When this gets to Ford, I'd like for them see that it's not just current SVT owners who want the SVT program to come back. They need to see that SVT coming back would be a good thing.

Thanks.

You're going to need a heck of a lot more than 1000 signatures to even get a Ford exec to open the email telling him you did it.

I just wanna see how fast we get to 1000. I set it so there's no limit to how many signatures we can get. If they want more than 1000, than by all means... let's get more.

I didn't know SVT went away! For what it's worth, visit svtoa.com or http://www.svtownersassociation.com/svtoaforums/index.php? for more info. Seems to me that SVTOA is having a national convention this July.

Sadly, SVT is DEAD my friend.

If any CEG'ers here are also paid members of SVTOA, Could you please post the link to the Petition on the SVTOA forums. Thanks.

Well, who knows. Since the SVTOA is still alive, perhaps members can sway Ford to do something in the future. I can't blame any company that's losing money to cater to a fringe market which is what SVT owners and any possible future owners would be. Let's see if Ford can turn their fortunes around and then see what happens. As a support group, the SVTOA is better than nothing and may be more than any other "factory" backed groups for other marques have.

I don't think SVT versions of Ford's current North American car product-line would be as compelling as comparible Mazdas.

if they sold a SVT version of the Fusion which featured a 3L MTX plus all the normal goodies any SVT product came with I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I'm willing to bet that there are lots of other people out there and on here that would say the same.

how many people dont want to own a limited production vehicle?

im sure everyone on here is for this including me...you might wanna try to other forums such as focaljet.com and svtperformance.com...i know theyd all probably wanna do it as well

If you did your research a modified version of the fusion is being test driven at the roush plant now and 6 months ago. My Friend works there, and says others have been driving it around. Even jack roush took it for a spin.

Ford wants to put a model out, but will it be named the ST or SVT.

Yes it is a v6 3.0L with 280 hp. I assume that it might be a front wheel drive hence the low hp numbers. If thats all wheel drive god :help: us.

So who knows what they will do with the final outcome. As far as i know a upgraded fusion model is supposed to be released by 2008/2009. That is when the fusion will get a new car design. So it sounds good to me!!!

If anything we will see it next year at the NAIAS or the NYAS.

Oh by the way it does have a turbo!!! 60hp gain is relatively low......for at the motor power. Well for me atleast.

I know everything comes down to reliability. So save all the explanations

I heard that Jack Roush was going to step in and do some of the things SVT did in the past for other models than the Mustang.

But -- I'm willing to bet that the Roush Fusion is still going to be an ATX 3L :(

also you can already buy a "tricked out" Fusion from a dealer w/a bodykit on it and special rims.

my works neighbors are the ones that won the office depot small business of nascar and they got to go visit and talk with jack roush himself. they said that it is manual and possibly even RWD  they werent sure as they didnt get to look under the car but IIRC there was mention of it.
