Has anyone ever removed the dash of their contour/mystique without the airbag going off? If so please tell me how. I would like to remove the dash to paint it but afaid of it going off on me
 
In addition to that, take 1/2 of a jumper cable set (take your pick only red or black) and jump the battery cables together for about 5 minutes (don't touch the battery) !!!
That will discharge the entire electrical system in your car. Your ECM will reset also.
 
I think he means to connect the positive and negative battery cables together with a jumper cable after removing the battery.
This would complete the circuit sans battery and allow any capacitors to drain
 
yes, you can... so long as you disconnected BOTH battery cables from your battery, instead of just one.. It may not reach otherwise..
