Well, as some of you know I rolled the tour back in november and have since been to busy to post here wiht school kicking my butt and all. but after tons of searching i waited until i found a sweet deal on the Explorer I wanted I finally got one that was waaay nicer then what I ever thought I would find for my budget of $7k (I beileve divine intervention helped alot here). so here she is-

Let me know what ya guys think! oh yea, final price- $6995. and its got 87k on it, engine and mechanicals maitained excellently (guy owned a machine shop).

it's a solid motor either way. motor is fine on my 92 with 160k on it. it's the rest of the truck that's falling apart!

looks alot like my old one...I hated it. So much I will sell my Contour and never come back to Ford. I spent 6k on it last year in maintenance crap. I sold it with 89k miles on it. They have all kinds of "common" problems...tranny sucks, diff sucks, 4wd computer sucks, the springs sag and break...I even had to replace a wheel bearing.

I think Ford's are the only thing you ever have to replace wheel bearings on...

Although 7k is a steal. I traded mine in and got 11k...which was the highest trade in I could find.

My mother-in-law had the exact same ride and it was actually pretty decent, but the ride was a bit more harsh than our then new 02' Trailblazer though. Good job on the deal:cool:

Hey, you could also come down and buy my 95 tour for $750 if you wanted to! I would even throw in the summer rims. LOL

Nope. Every other company uses the infinite life bearings that don't undergo any type of friction.

HAHAH
Actually the rears were replaced around 60K (can't remember exactly) so the fronts will be in order when i get money as i hear that they are the problem spots in these vehicles. Although not bulletproff like the OHV 4.0, the SOHC in it should last me outta college and hopefull into my first job, as i will be putting nothing but highway miles on it and it has a repair record about the legnth of a garden bred earthworm. But im gonna do a full synthetic flush and drop the ol K&N from the tour on there for now and tune it up a bit before I head out west. Thanks for the compliments, and as far as the deal, like I said I have been looking since november so if you are willing to wait they're out there

I ahev had more cars than most people have in their life...along with my family...rarely do wheel bearings go out....

oh ya I worked at a shop... I do know.

oh come on, you havent changed like a million GM hub assemblies, and dont ask on which cars cause they all do it, specificly the suv's and trucks.

Yeap, GMs trucks/SUVs are without a doubt the worse.
And like I said, you gotta change them on plenty of other cars. Fords really ain't that different about em. Guess you just had some bad luck or something stilov.
