ha sanyone ever tried the bat standard premium euro rotors. with my tax money comming i want to do a pretty good brake upgrade without going with cross drilled or grooved rotors. the cheap rotors from the parts stores usually last liek a year and they are liek $20 each. this time i want better quality. how about pads im thinkign of goign with ebc green stuff. i have duralast semimetallic now and they get hot too fast i need somethign that can take some heat and be easy on the rotors. i am considering ceramic or carbon metalic liek i had on my mr2 back in the day.

I have not heard very good things about ebc greenstuff pads. I am using a combo of satisfied pro and bendix pads, and have no complaints. I don't know anything about the BAT rotors, but I would assume they are close to oem.

i have heard there is nothing wrong with BAT rotors. they just rust real fast. as for a the green stuff. i have heard bad things as well.

im not worried about how its looks just as long as they work good and dont warp fast like those $20 rotors i baught from the part store last time. ive had my car for 4 years and replaced my rotors twice and turned once. i have the duralast gold pads rigth now and they get hot real quick i am considering ceramic pads but i heard they are bad for rotors.

North American OEM disks warp like old pie plates. I picked up the BAT Complete 4-wheel Brake Kit c/w Mintex A/F pads and euro-spec rotors. I upgraded to E0 calipers at the same time.
True, they do rust on the surface very quickly - as in, you can watch it form as you're washing your car. I also found that this combination doesn't bite as quickly as OEM, but after that it's smooth stopping.
If I were to do it again I'd consider ATE PowerDisks:

i may have to forget about the upgrade now. i got clocked doing about 37 mph over the 70mph limit on the highway the other day so now i have a $300 ticket and a court date.

That's just not right. If they'd crack down on those that don't "keep right except to pass," as the law requires, they wouldn't have to be so finicky about us pushing the speed limits a bit - at least on the interstates.

(Oh, wait, did you say 37 over? "Oops! Sorry officer. Ya see, I just got these oversized tires and I haven't had my speedometer calibrated yet. and I keep getting confused, do I add to my speedo reading or subtract from it?" )

Count my lucky stars. I've never been caught yet. SOMEbody up there loves me!

Not sure of the logic here. Are you saying that you need to speed if people don't stay out of the passing lanes? Leave a little earlier and you won't be late.

A rotor is a rotor. I drive the crap outta my cars and never had trouble with any rotor I use. I have the econo BAT rotors on the front of my zetec, part store focus svt rotors on my svt, parts store rotors were on my escort. I autox'd the escort and had hawk hp+ front pads and hps rear. I also did many a sliding stop just messing around, leaving 50 feet of black marks. My svt has very aggressive carbotech pads. I've driven all the cars on mountain roads with smoke pouring off the brakes at times. None a problem with any of them.
Maybe you ride your brakes a lot or hit puddles or your calipers are messed up or something, but you really shouldn't be having problems with the rotors like you are. And when you say they only last a year, how are they failing? Warped or what? Do you not get them turned? There is nothing wrong with having rotors turned if they still are within tolerance and it can save you money.

the cheap $20 parts stores rotors tend to warp fast even if its turned just once. i use to just by econo rotors every time i put in new pads. i figuered this time i would go for some better qulity rotors since i have a few more bucks to spend. but i dont want to go with slotted or drilled. when i had my mr2 i had carbon metallic pads and they were great at speeds of around 120 and would never get too hot. if i had 16 inch wheels i would go with the fsvt upgrade. i would like to get a set of 16's or 17's later on just to improve the handling of my car wich is pretty good for sitting on stock 15's and stock size tires. im thinking of going with ceramic pads though.

I've never had a problem with parts store rotors. I drive the crap outta my cars. Smoke pouring off the brakes repeatedly kind of driving when I go to the mountains. Though like anything, how you take care of em is important. Get them hot, let them cool down before parking. I never do hard braking in the rain to avoid getting them hot and then having water get on them.

i was kind of wondering if the rotor design causes the warpage. since it does have that hole groove in there. does anyone sell a flat solid faced vented rotor. this is the only car that ive ever owned that had the rotors go bad on me. if i remember correctly cant fron breaks be fitted to the rear? i was thinking of puttign the regular s.e. brakes on the rear since i remeber hearing it can be done. plus i liv ein florida and its all flat and i dont need a parking brake.

The fronts are vented. Warmonger sells a kit to fit SVT Focus fronts on the front and SVT Contour fronts or SVT Focus rears on the rear. All of it retains the parking brake since you're using the stock caliper.
