Does this look bad to you?

That's what I thought. I'm gonna grab a new set of plugs, just to see what happens. I know when I took them out, I didn't put them back in the same cylinder, and it seems that Duratecs don't like that. When we tested the fuel pressure before, it was cool, so now I don't think that's the issue. Car has an appointment next Wed. w/ a local mechanic. He drives a Lightning, so at least he'll know that this isn't quite just another contour. Losing my mind over this.

so you hope he knows that is not just another contour. maybe he will think it is a escort. lol j/p
 
Another thing that can cause a random misfire would be a valve stuck open or a sunk valve seat. When the valve spring on my number 5 cylinder broke the first thing that happened was a random misfire code, as the engine continued running the valve made light contact with #5 piston not enough to break the valve just bend it so it wouldn't close completely. Other than the random misfire code the engine ran fine.

On my Ranger I had a random misfire code, ended up being sunk exhaust valve seats. 2 new cylinder heads = no more misfire.
