Ingnition switch annoyance

Here's what's been annoying the crap out of me lately (been happening for several years now though). After I turn off the car and remove the key from the switch, the barrel stays pushed in causing the chime to go off. I have to poke at the switch repeatedly before it pops out and shuts up.

Anyone else have this problem? Is there a specific fix for it or should I just spray some WD-40 in there and hope that fixes it?

mine does the same thing gets stuck like that ive just learned to push it in when i take the key out..

Lubrication does wonders. Use WD40 gently and exercise the mechanism to help it work in.

Mine did that, i just poked at it or would cycle the key and it'd be fine.

That happens to me sometimes when it's muy frio. Kinda weirds me out.

Mine has been doing it for almost 2 years now. Never bothered me enough to take it apart. Just a quick tap on the ignition and it pops out.

Wd-40

WD-40 may initially help. But over the long run it may cause dust and such to build up. Go to a lock smith for a high quality lube for the lock. If you just need a small amount they may do it at no charge. Dan
