New PCM, no start.

I purchsed a new PCM for my 99 stique and now after installing it it only cranks. It wont start it just cranks and cranks. The new PCM is the same part number as the old one same year same everything, cept the new one is from a contour. But I don't think that makes a difference.

I would say PATS since it's a 1999, but if I remember correctly, Zetecs never had PATS at all. onder:

Wouldn't a pats system not even crank then?

yes the pats would not allow the car to crank .... zetecs do not have pats ...


are you shure the new pcm is from a car with an identical setup, ie options?

also what number is the same?

ok but what about the PCM code? what is the 4 digit alphanumeric code on the PCMs?

pats disables the fuel pump and the ignition, the fuel pump will not run and the car will not crank
