on the old forums we had an exhaust thread for people who modified their exhaust.

What I want to see/hear is What mufflers/Resonators you used, what size piping, and a video/sound clip of the exhaust; at idle, when revved up, and a flyby, this will give the best idea of what a similar setup might sound like.

I personally want to hear Zetec tours with full SVT exhausts, nothing removed. Stock Resonator and mufflers.

Is there a lot of drone?
 
Nope. There is some, but it is only noticable at low speed/RPM, even then its not bad.

I've been in a xA w/ headers and magnaflow exhaust and boy do I love my Contour even more. :D So much drone, she had to turn the radio up a lot to cancel the sound out, but you could still hear it. :laugh:

I only ask because I have the possibility of going Full SVT setup, or removing a resonator, or full svt setup with a borla resonator, and I mainly use this car for travel, so I dont want to have to dick with wicked drone while on the freeway.

I'm just curious, but how will you manage a SVT 'tour exhaust w/ no 'tour, and a Zetec at that. Is there another one in your future? :rolleyes:

Going about 70 mph, drone is audiable but you have to focus on the sound it makes to notice it. I've been living with it for awhile (3, almost 4, months now) and I haven't changed my mind about doing it one bit.

;) big surprise coming around SZ. Everybody knows im getting a zetec tour, people just have no idea what I have planned for it.

Cruising By At Another Meet Outside Of The Hotel...Ask Your Boy Hector Why We Almost Got Booted Because Of His Loud Ass Exhaust!!!:laugh:

I got so many compliments on this this exhaust it was unbelievable.

exhaust question

exhaust question

I want to buy a higher performance header for my car but I can’t find one any where. I have a Zetec 96 195000 miles. I know what you guys are going to say search the old forums search the new forums get a cougar 4 cycl header bla bla but for what year cougar?? . I don’t know the first thing about doing this upgrade to my car I can install it myself and I can get custom pipes down anywhere here in the ghetto but where can I get the header please help this is driving me insane in the mainframe.

any year cougar should work. also if you had searched you would have found that info. you can even take a focus shorty header and create your own downpipe so it works with our oilpan.
