Im contemplating getting those for my 18s because the road noise with the parada spec 2's is almost unbearable. Although the performance of the Parada is definetly impressive, the road noise kills me :blackeye:

I just want to have other experience with these tires on how the performance along with road noise was to them, and also what size they ran on 18s. Much thanks..

Well, I have them in 17's (225/45/17) on my Mazda6 and love them. I'd say they have less road noise than the Michelins it came with. Pilot HX MXM4's. Now there's a tire that's total crap!

oh yea I remember your car having Eagle F1s. When I had my 17s, I had the Michelin Pilot Sports, they were ok as far as road noise but when I took hard turn, the tires squealed a lot but I never lost grip. THey were an awesome tire, expensive tire that I hated to part with. But now I wanna try the Eagle F1s..

Why do you insist on spending big money on tires goonz? The eagles are good and I'm sure you'll be satisfied but you can buy two sets of another tire that's just as good (or better at certain times) for the money.

I'm aware of your point but I guess I'm really particular when it comes to tires ..I really like the Parada's but I only wish they weren't so loud ya know.

I'm pretty particular myself considering the amount of money I have invested in tires (I have separate 'race' tires and wheels for both the svt and escort) but when a cheaper similar, if not better, option is available, then I'd jump on it.

Maybe try contacting Luke at tirerack. He'd probably know or be able to find out about noise for you. But I know your problem with the paradas, either your exhaust or radio weren't loud enough.

Awesome tire. But I dunno if spending that much is that serious. Did you ever get that wheel wear problem fixed goonz? That might be why the paradas are making so much noise. My eagle f1's weren't that loud, at least at highway speeds, but they wore so fast I wasn't ready to drop that much coin on them especially for 18's.

I never figured out what the problem was with my irregular wear on that one wheel. I got the car aligned and all and everything seemed fine even before the alignment. If you look at the reviews and ratings for the parada, they are listed to be a lour tire..

I had those tires on my last set of wheels for the CSVT (mounted on 17" BBS RX's:drool: ) and I really liked them, even though they were Goodyears. I actually got them from Trapps and cared more about the wheels but those tires are badass! They handled the Dragon w/o an issue w/ incredible grip. The only thing I didn't like about them was the rib design around the sidewall, but then again, what new styled tire doesn't have that....

-BFG KDW2's
-Paradas

...thats about it:shrug:

BTW with a 280 treadwear, AA traction and A temp the tire will hold up very well and as long as you don't smoke em' all the time, should last a solid 20K!

I'm sure if you went with the Azenis RT-615 ($127 each for 225/40-18) you would wonder why you used to spend so much $$ on over-rated tires.... and why such a cheap tire handles better than tires costing 2x's as much.

Do it.... do it.

I work at a GoodYear and I can tell you, the F1's are a great tire, but they are very expensive...

I would suggest something like a Sumotomo(sp?) HTR+ they have great ratings from tire rack and are less than half the cost of an F1

Just because a tire is cheaper doesn't mean it's not as good as the big name brand tires, remember your also paying for the name...

Also look at Dunlop, Direzza, SP Sport 9000, SP Sport 5000, and the FM901

All pretty good performance tires and alot cheaper than F1's

I work at a goodyear too, that is decent advice. Except the are still cheaper options than the dunlops and the sumitumo htr aren't comparable to the F1s. They are a decent all season while the F1s are a good summer tire (lot better dry traction, probably bit better wet, but not good in snow and not as long lasting).

I say try the Kumho Ecsta MX. They are reasonably priced and they have similar characteristics to the Goodyear. I've talked to a lot of tuner shops about tires and they said it was one of if not the best tire for the money. If you need an everyday tire with a high speed rating and you're not autocrossing, they say it'll be perfect. Hell I'll be running them, so that might make me a little biased.

The MX is the exact opposite of the GS-D3. The MX takes heat well and doesn't chunk, has great dry grip when warm, and sucks in the wet. The GS-D3 is incredible in the wet, hates heat, and tears up under racing conditions.

I'd take the Hankook Ventus over either tire.

I know a couple people that have road coursed Z06s on F1s and did quite well, so I don't know if they exactly tear up under racing conditions, unless of course you mean back to back to back to back true racing laps. But I don't think many people do that on any street tire.

Yep. Soft sidewall for AutoX as I found. I love them though for everyday driving. Awesome in rain which I wanted after owning a string of scarey tires. Sweet tread pattern too.
