How many miles on your tour? when were your problems?

Sad. That sucks man. Where's your hood?!

Mostly here but alot of it over there, under here and generally gone.

@ 98k the plastic blade on the water pump cracked.
@ 100k the plastic VSS gear and shaft snapped off.
Need: spark plugs and wires, oil pan gasket, serpentine belt, + catalytic converter issue fixed (4 codes in memory)

man, I think those photos should be banned like porn.. thats just wrong... you don't know how many innocent eyes are now jaded... and how many sleepless nights filled with nightmares you've created.. damn you 69Boss302 Damn you! :)

I'm the 5th owner ( ithink) of my 98 CSVT.
Ive got 1 original key. No fobs, no second key nothing.

Key no longer works on the truck lock.
Passenger window doesnt go up or down(from either panel). Electic to the switch is good.
139K motor went kaboom. Ignited a fire under the hood.
Replaced wiring, boots and so on. Did a 3L swap at the same time.
3rd gear Synchro is gone... as in no longer in the transmission. Shifts into 3rd fine, with just a little grind(none, if i get give the tranny a half second or so in neutral before shifting)

with 800 miles on the motor swap, i was hit from the right side, Pushed into the car on the left, and then rear ended. Guy who hit me, took off. I didint have collision.

For under $400, i did front fenders, used Headlights, a new header panel. Did all the work my self, and it looks good.
I still need Front/Rear Bumper covers. A hood and Side Skirts.

Costs are as follows:
Purchase Price:1300
Motor Swap when it went boom: 3000
Accident repair: 400

I still need a Tune ($400- March 24th)
Calipers, Pads, Rotors all the way around
Alignment
Plug wires and a Coil Pack.

needless to say... its been fun :)

Bought this car in last year for $3700
Carfax says i'm the car's 2nd owner

Issues I've had

Whole car emissions system was shot ( all 4 o2 sen., both cats, EGR,) --$1800
New Battery---$80
TSS replacement--$300
replace back bumper---yet to be done--priced at $500

much fun

Damn man, for what you paid for the car and fixing the emissions problem you coulda had a nice low-milage SVT :p

Ya...I would've picked up an SVT...but I can't drive a stick shift.

the most costly repears was both Cats & the EGR, all told i've put well over $2000 in to it.....with more to come......you'll see this monster at SZ 07

mines a 1996 92k i got the timing belt replaces
97k got an cold air intake
102k engine started smoking through oil breather
103k replaced pcv valve and it caused the car to run rough
so i parked it in my yard its gonna go to y sister when my dad fixes it

i now drive a 2004 ranger

85K miles on my 97 4 banger ATX.
DPFE censor replaced
Water pump/Timing belt replaced
C02 censor replaced (what the CEL read but was vacuum leak)
MAF censor replaced (same as above)
ECT censor replaced (still same as above)
Driver side spring replaced (broke in 2)
Passenger side wheel bearing replaced
Currently wrong with car.
In need of Outter passenger tie rod end
Coolant leak
Maybe a minor oil leak (think I found oil on the ground not sure coulda just been coolant mixed with dirt on the ground).
Oh and I'm the 4th owner. And here it is as it sits in my carport for the winter months. :)

Note: Most of the snow melted off today it warmed up to almost 40 degrees.

have 71k and 0 problems due to failing parts
had bad luck though with bent control arms, 400$ w/ labor, and 150$ for 2 new rear tires
bolt stuck in between caliber and brake pad - 150$ flatbed, 40$ labor
besides that nothing though, just waiting on the water pump (knock on wood)

I will try {in no praticular order, and too lazy to look at milage log}
Currently, +108K
PCM, all 4 o2 sensors, warrantied, took them a month to fix.
upper and lower intake gaskets,
one set of plugs, put a new set of plug wires I got from a fellow CEG member.
Need to replace gut the stupid cats. Have a set of used manifolds waiting for this...
all 4 struts, warrantied
dash, recall warranty after jackball halfassed it with the upper rivit fix which made it worse.
I am offically on my 4th set of tires. I can't get them to last longer than 25K. And they have not been cheap, junk tires, ether. Stupid soft compound sport tires. Can I help it if I like hard corners?
I blame it on my Itailian wife who does not know the concept of "drive easy in the curves" and can't help but hit every pot hole and curb.
Front clip,ALL related parts and coolers, after she rear ended a truck. Transplanted a SVT front end on my 99 SE. It was the same T-red, I didn't have to paint it, so sue me if you have issue with SVT body parts on an SE.
Blower fan Resistor.
Brakes, fronts three times since I bought at 39K miles. Rear are still OEM fords.
Rear wheel cylinders, recall issue.
Alternator.
Probably should do the waterpump, still has OEM later series pump.
Two batteries.
Brake light switch.
Replaced both keys with PCM, new keyfobs off Ebay, programed n/c by dealer.
Serpintine belt done last year. Waterpump belt done last year.
IAC motor replaced under warranty.
Fuel injection service done at time of intake gaskets {upper and lower} replacment.
Is due for oil pan gasket, and the flex pipe on the exhaust.
I picked up an SVT exhaust system from a fellow CEG member with less than like 55-60K on it, will probably do this spring.
Plan on swapping out SE brakes for SVT front brakes if anyone actually gets back to me on parts requests.
Due for sway bar endlinks, not broke yet, but have a feeling.
Aligned 4 times since purchased, car is still tight, and drives clean.
Needs one tie rod, and could use a camber kit.
Would like to replace engine cradle mounts to solid mounts, the originals squeak like a beeyotch.
Replaced battery / alternator wiring harness.
I know I am missing some things, but my car has been a pain in the butt.
I keep it because I can push it, and it drives like a road rocket after alot of high speed driving...

96 atx-transmission,front sway bar links,front wheel bearing,drive axle,engine
mounts, oil pan and the engine just locked at 89k.say hello to the junk yard!
96 mtx-no real problems-I just keeping adding more custom $()*T to it.
98 mtx-altenators and batteries,exhaust converters,rear links,front links!
all 3 of contours have the check engine light come on 3 to 4 times a year
and always in need of an 02 sensor or some engine problem!!!!
These are the last fords I,ll ever own!I need to spend more time in the house,
than under the hood!Good luck guys......

Mine is almost at 98K and, knock on wood, hasn't had any major repairs. I just do regular maintenance. I put new tires on it last Saturday (Firestone Affinity LH30) and got an alignment, which made it feel almost new. I replaced the plugs later that day, and now it runs better than ever. I'm really happy with it. My to-do list: replace hazed headlamp assemblies; get trunk pop to work (probably replace trunk latch assembly); replace two cracked center caps.

my 95 gl auto had 68000k when we got it and 183000km when sold it had the following:

100000km, starter, brakes tires
120000km alt
130000km AC (never fixed)
150000 water pump (3 of them)
165000 km abs (never fixed)
165000 control arms and a few other susepention parts and brakes/tires
175000 power locks (never fixed figured out it was just a bad wire but never got around to fixing it)

I bought the car in June 2004 with 82,000 miles. 2 weeks later the clutch went out. Sat for a couple weeks wait for parts.

8 months later at like 94000 miles Differential spider gears shattered. Sat for six monthes waiting for the Final production run of Torsen LSD. Updated Transmission. Replaced front control arms, upper strut bearings, swaybar bushings, Rear tranny mount, Drive shafts (messed up when spider gear broke), Lightened flywheel.

At 110,000 miles got new wheels and tires. Ripped off by the guy I bought the wheels from - he said the tires had never seen the ground, with they were worn through to the treads.

115,000 miles Blew engine - bearing knock at probably 108k. This was about July 2006. Still working on it. Too many projects not enough time. At least being broken helps keep the mileage down. But I have forgotten what it is like to drive.

Need to replace the Drivers window switches, fix the A/C and other small stuff.

No reason to explain that new tires have never seen the ground. That's why I prefer places like Firestone or NTB for tires.

One family owned car..got it with 52k miles on it, has 99k on it now...Shifter cable broke at 92k, replaced plugs and wires at 94k...had the cats replaced under warrantany at 80k.....the usually maintenance stuff....
