so - the weekend report for the RPM Resonator replacement... [Big Grin]

so i reset my 'puter yesterday and took the SVT for a spin... HOLY COW!! i need to get a chip at this point, i don't remember hitting the rev-limiter so many times in one day! my car kept on pulling and felt like i could goto 7500rpm with no issues...

just so you guys know - i was the guinea pig, spent $180 getting a new resonator installed...

so the part number for an SVT it the Edelbrock RPM 5542 offset/offset Performance Muffler - it's ~$100 online, sounds good - no rasp just more "presence" inside and out - you can definitely tell it's no longer "stock" [Smile]

one of you locals will have to hear my new setup...

Sassmaster,

you should pick up a SVT exhaust for your car.

Not sure if NyceBoi still has his, but he should sell it to you for around $150

I still have my Catback and I will sell it to a NorCal CEGer for $150! To much hassle shipping so I would rather sell in our area! @ that price you must pick up though! 916.628.0158. SVT Springs/Struts for $100

$240 takes all! [Big Grin]

you will BUY BUY BUY!

Hey Toadster,
so what was the full price of the muffler operation. I assume you bought 2 of them, right?
And also, I have a totally lame question for anyone in the group. What exactly is the resonator? It is apparently not what I thought it was.

ok - so i replaced the resonator (it's the first of 3 mufflers on an SVT) - it's located behind the Y-pipe and under the front seats... the stock resonator is built to reduce noise and it hampers performance (anywhere from 3-5HP) - so the RPM Muffler was ~$100, install was $45 (my mishaps above cost me an additional $35-40 so learn to get the right part) [Smile]

i didn't touch the rear mufflers, they're stock SVT - and my car is MUCH louder than before... it maybe a bit much on a long trip, but i'm usually anywhere within a 1/2 hour [Smile]

make sense?
