Ok i need a new suspension BAD! i am looking at either Spax struts with Bat sport springs for a total of 579$
or the Bat Euro Kit for 595$
20$ difference I don't care. Just wondering if anyone has run these combos, and what their opinion is either of them.
thank you!

I don't think she wants to deal with a slammed car. Go BAT for day to day use with Spax. The BAt setup comes with upper mounts though. Might have to buy seperately going with the spax combo making it more in the long run.

well how far do the eibachs lower the car? i heard 2"

I just want something that will tighten up the ride slightly. Also, where did you see that mounts are included? at batinc.net I did not see that included

I have the Full BAT suspension with their Struts and Camber plates. I would classify their suspension as a good replacement for Stock. The ride is not harsh but firmer than the stock SVT. I have not observerd any significant lowering over stock but that could also be due to sagging springs. My car has 120K miles.

The camber plates are a good option if you want to ensure the alignment is the same on both sides because factory tops have no adjustment.

If you want a more track / autox suspension then I would look elsewhere. If you want a good street suspension that is fun on the track then the BAT is the way to go.

SO MANY DECISIONS!! well Steeda I want your Eibachs, but how many miles are on them? I don't want springs that are shot to hell ya know?

and yes mainly street, and the occassional trip to the track or what not

I put like 5k on them. Not sure how many Snob put on them. but they arn't shot. The struts where destroied though :)

I will have a set of 4 Eibach Springs w/ less than 50k on them that will be for sale along w/ a brand new set of H&R rear springs as soon as I install my koni/B&G combo in a few weeks.

pm when u do i might be in for some lowering springs

I have several ppl interested in them and I have not even posted them in the classifiedes yet. Basically the fairest way of doing it is that I will post them in the classifiedes and first one to buck up gets them. Heres a hint though I will be posting them hopefully by the end of march, keep your eyes peeled.

I need to get in this since I just got my 18's(thanks to KingpinSVT/Chris:cool:) and my car needs the drop now and the suspension is very old. I'll be posting pics of my 'tour and you'll get the idea.

So let me get this straight:

1) Spax sucks(?)
2) BAT suspension is good for street and fun on track, but isn't the best combo (the sport kit).
3) H&R springs lower more than Eibach in the front (but how about the rear?)

I'm looking for ~1" drop but not a harsh ride on the street. What else should be replaced while the suspension is out. Are camber plates suggested?

Sorry for stealing the post, but I'd rather continue a post than make a new one.

if you want about a 1-1.25" drop all around and a good quality kit and $ is not a huge issue I would look into the Koni Sport Kit. It can be had for $697 shipped from AJUSA

I think both you & the young lady are looking for the BAT kit. It is a good all around kit, drops the car about an inch, not harsh, nearly eliminates nose dive and body roll compared to stock, and has the ability to handle the occasional track run - all without need for a camber kit. Think of it as the BMW M3 suspension upgrade.

Ideally, if you wanted the best of all worlds, you could get the Koni kit with adjustable struts. 'Bout 1.5" drop, comfy on the street and you can tighten it up nicely for stints on the track.

If you have 100k miles & have not updated any of your suspension, I suggest
  1. endlinks, front & rear (rear with bushings),
  2. take a close look at your control arms & replace them if the bushings are looking cracked & tired (~$45 each for the 2 bolt versions at Tousley Ford),
  3. bushings for the front & rear sway bars,
  4. and grease the caliper slide pins while you're there.
  5. Replace the strut mounts only if they need it IMHO. I've swapped out 3 sets and only one of the 3 sets was even remotely in need of it - or so it appeared. If you're gonna keep the car for a hella long time, then just go ahead & spring for the strut mounts.
  6. You likely won't need to replace them, but do check & perhaps clean the front strut bearings

I forgive you... lol kind of!
jk
yeah my Brother is a suspension Engineer so I am taking the advice I get here, combined with his advice when I have him drive my car.

Thank's for the help!

I have brand new BAT struts paired with new Eibach springs. (courtesy of JEDsContour). The ride is very nice. There are like 1" drop all around. I believe you can get this combo directly from BAT since that's what JED did, for not much more than just BAT kit.
