Use a credit card with a small cloth on it to remove the dirt from in between your grooves first.

Next start masking off your surfaces that will not be dyed

Next use a heat gun or heat lamp to warm the surfaces if possible.

Next spray your base coat very lightly

Continue to apply more coats as needed

Let it dry for at least 5 to 6 hours. It may seem dry to the touch but wont be dry all the way through

so do you think that this would work well on the vynl headrests in the car, how about a leather arm rest?

SEM says the dye will work on any leather or vinyl surface. I have a piece of spare vinyl in the garage that I can test on tommorow.

I have used it on flat surfaces that dont get a lot of use, I'd have to test it in a higer traffic area for durability.

i've always wanted black interior. could be a fun project for next year before SZ. i could just get some black racing seats and dye everything else. those europeans are so lucky that they get the black interior. we're stuck with bluish purple.

Does it feel any different? I'd always be scared of that rubbing off. I guess I don't have much experience with dyes
