okay I have a white connector dangling from what looks like the exhaust manifold in the back. So that must be the oxygen sensor but I can't find where it connects to... :shrug:

IIRC white is the upstream O2's and blue are downstream O2's
Check the upstream o2 sensor on the rear manifold.

the connector for the upstream O2 sensor is right by the coil pack where your hands will never fit. Thank you ford.

I was looking at mine under the car the other day and it was blue and green but that might be a year 2000 change since my girlfriends Focus was the same way.
return fuel system cars have square plugs on the upper O2 sensors and round plugs on the lower O2 sensors.
returnless fuel system cars have round connectors on all sensors. the upstream ones are green and the down stream are blue.
