6 speed gear box. Worth a shot?

hey it has been a while since i've been in here but I am getting ready to do some heavy tear down/build up on my car. I figured as long as I got that front end apart I would take a gander at seeing if a Getrag-Ford 6 speed from the svt focus would bolt on to the oh so nice 2.5 on the contour. MTX-75's pretty much stink worse than liver & onions. And I am tired of the 3rd gear hang up when I go out for a cruise.

Anybody know anything about that 6 speed box and if it would fit?

Focus SVT trans might fit, but it is not as strong as the MTX-75. Its not up to the task.

Pretty sure this has been discussed plenty before...and the getrag doesn't match up to our motor. Someone correct me if I am wrong...

Different bellhousing bolt pattern, so it doesn't fit. It could be modified to fit, but there really isn't much benefit at all. The Mondy 6-spd is a much better option if you are going to try to custom fit a gearbox.
